Since 2016, Natasha Gunn and Hans Jakusch, have worked, practiced and studied hard to create the quality team we are today. The members of our teaching team are passionate about sharing their experience and knowledge with you in a way that is inspirational, respectful, and supportive.
We are unique in being qualified to offer you, not only the Original Hot Yoga (Bikram) sequence, but other yoga approaches, including traditional Vinyasa Krama, Vinyasa Flow and Yin yoga to fulfil your individual needs.
We are a medium-sized school specialised in giving personal guidance to people of all ages, abilities and conditions. We help every body-mind find a practice that is functional and beneficial for your personal well-being.
Natasha brings her psychology background and training as a yoga therapist to the school to create a balanced yoga class schedule and maintain excellence in teaching quality.
As a trauma-informed school, we know yoga is deeper and broader than simply well-guided exercise and ‘yoga styles’.
Why we practice Yoga
Many people come to yoga simply to learn to relax and keep fit, while others come to recover and grow from mental or physical trauma.
We, as yoga teachers, have also overcome much in our lives, which brought us to yoga in the first place! Yoga has given us a way to re-direct our lives into what we want them to be. That’s why we are here to share yoga with you too!
We offer special classes and workshops as a registered as a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider® via Natasha Gunn, who is a certified as E-RYT with Yoga Alliance. Art Awake Yoga is Registered as a Yoga school to offer you a RYT 200-hour registration with Yoga Alliance upon completion of the course requirements.
All our teachers are minimum 200 RYT (or equivalent), Original Hot Yoga Teacher certified, or a combination of these accreditations and much more. You will notice both new teachers and more experienced teachers at our school in keeping with our philosophy as a learning organisation.
Our Registered Hatha Yoga Teacher Training
