How to choose your first yoga class(in English language) By Natasha Gunn, Yoga program leader at Hot Yoga Eindhoven

  • Online reservation preferred. Arrive around 10 minutes before the class starts to settle in.
  • Check your parking App before coming so you understand where free parking is. Recent changes mean you may have a 3 to 5 min walk from your car.
  • All levels are welcome. Hot Yogalates and Pilates can be more physically demanding. Hot Core 60 is a good Hot Yoga beginner’s class.
  • Women wear shorts / light yoga pants you can move in & sports bra/ Men wear shorts/ breathable sports clothing you can move in. (T-shirts optional).
  • Bring 2 towels ideally: one large one for your yoga mat and one to shower. Yoga mat is included with your first class.
You can rent or buy yoga mats & non-slip yoga towels in the studio.
  • Hydrate well before a hot yoga class. Drink at least 2 litres (around 8 glasses) over the day before a class. Bring a water bottle with you.
  • Practice on an empty stomach. Try not to eat for around 2 hours before class. If you need to snack, something light like fruit is a good option.
  • The heat may be challenging the first time, skip postures if you need to and focus on slowing down your breathing.
  • Focus on keeping your breathing easy. Breath through your nose, mouth closed. Focussing on exhale is calming.
  • Try to stay in the hot room. The teacher will keep an eye on you and ask you how you feel. Kneel down, take breaks as needed.
  • Yoga classes are in English, but most of our teachers understand and speak Dutch.
  • Tea is available after class – we serve green, spice or herbal teas.
  • Follow our COVID-19 Safety regulations and protocol
